Check Out the Hollywood Actresses Cast to Play Hillary Clinton in New Show

Dakota Fanning and Claire Danes have reportedly been cast to play Hillary Clinton in a new TV series about the failed 2016 presidential candidate.

The flip side of Hollywood’s contempt for Republicans is its glorification of Democratic politicians.

Hulu passed on “Rodham,” the TV adaptation of Curtis Sittenfeld’s 2020 historical fiction novel of the same name, but the production company behind the series is still shopping it around to other streaming platforms, Variety reported earlier this month.

“Rodham,” the novel, imagines an alternate universe in which Clinton never married former President Bill Clinton and won the 2016 presidential election against Republican Jeb Bush.

  • Danes and Fanning are set to portray the former secretary of state at different stages of her life in the show, which is still in development, per Variety.
  • It would hardly be the first Clinton-related TV project in recent memory: Edie Falco starred as the former first lady in FX’s 2021 “Impeachment: American Crime Story.”
  • “Hillary,” a fawning, four-part Hulu docuseries chronicling Clinton’s life, was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2020.

Days after the 2016 election, “Saturday Night Live” opened with then-cast member Kate McKinnon, in character as Clinton, performing a somber rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”

I’m not giving up, and neither should you,”McKinnon told the audience.
