WHITE HOUSE REQUESTS IMMUNITY FOR SAUDI LEADER BIDEN PROMISED TO PUNISH FOR MURDER

The Biden administration said Thursday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman should be granted immunity in a lawsuit brought against him by the fiancée of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. President Joe Biden has said Khashoggi was murdered on Salman’s orders. “Biden himself betrayed his word, betrayed Jamal,” Khashoggi’s fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, told CNN Friday. “History will not forget this wrong decision.”

MEN’S SPERM ARE DISAPPEARING AT AN ALARMING RATE, STUDY FINDS

Sperm counts worldwide have plummeted by 62 percent in the past 50 years, according to an analysis of sperm count studies published Thursday. The researchers called their findings a “looming crisis” and a “canary in a coal mine” that could “threaten mankind’s survival.” Previous studies have linked falling sperm counts to widespread obesity, sedentary lifestyles, smoking, exposure to certain chemicals and pesticides and other factors.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D.N.Y. announced Friday that he would seek the role of House Democratic leader. Regarded as the frontrunner to replace outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Jeffries has faced renewed criticism from Republicans for his denials of the legitimacy of the 2016 election. He would be the first-ever black person to lead a party in Congress.
