The man charged with assaulting Paul Pelosi last week authored hundreds of bizarre and disturbing blog posts, including outraged musings about fairies, in the days leading up to the attack.

The Washington Post on Monday published some of the paranoid and hate-filled posts by David DePape, the 42-year-old California resident who allegedly attacked the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the couple’s San Francisco home.
- “They have lots of fairy houses but NONE of them are MADE for fairies,” he wrote in one post, referencing his frustrated attempts to purchase a fairy house on the e-commerce platform Etsy.
- Other posts contained rants against transgender people, the media and minorities.
- While Democrats have framed the attack as the product of DePape’s alleged political radicalization, Republicans have blamed the man’s reported mental illness and drug problems.
