According to MSNBC anchor Joy Reid, Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s interest in “testicle tanning” is actually code for her favorite subjects: former President Trump, fascism and white supremacy.
WHAT SHE SAID
Reid said on her show Monday that Carlson’s new documentary-length exploration of “bromeopathic” treatments, like “red light therapy” for your scrotum, are no laughing matter.
- While it’s fine for her and other liberals on Twitter to mock Carlson’s search for solutions to American emasculation, Reid said, “the message here is far more nefarious.”
- “It’s about the so-called decline in masculinity and the rise of the left … [Carlson’s] hyper-masculinity flex is some pretty blatant fascist posturing. ‘The decline of real men’ is code for conservative white men who need laser beams to make white babies,” she continued.
- “That fascist posturing has led to fascist tendencies on the American right that worship tough guy — well, fake tough guy — Trump, who even as a ghostly presence can still reign as a party boss as he recreates New York’s Tammany Hall at Mar-a-Lago.”
SAME ENERGY
Carlson, who has long traded on-air insults with Reid, last week singled out her show for reacting to Elon Musk’s attempted takeover of Twitter by suggesting the billionaire entrepreneur is a dangerous racist.
- “That’s the lowest-brow propaganda possible. It’s all MSNBC is capable of,” Carlson commented.
