Former White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Deborah Birx admitted in a Friday Fox News interview that the medical establishment oversold COVID-19 vaccines to the public.
THE QUOTE
Speaking to anchor Neil Cavuto a day after quadrupled-jabbed President Biden announced he had COVID-19, Birx encouraged unvaccinated Americans to get the vaccine despite its decreasing efficacy.
“I knew these vaccines were not going to protect against infection, and I think we overplayed the vaccines and it made people then worried that it’s not going to protect against severe disease and hospitalization,” Birx said.
- “It will. But let’s be very clear: 50% of the people who died from the Omicron surge were older [and] vaccinated.”
FLASHBACK
In a July 2021 town hall with CNN anchor Don Lemon, Biden said, “You’re not going to — you’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.”
- “If you do, you’re not likely to get sick,” he later qualified. “You’re probably going to be symptomless. You’re not going to be in a position where you — where your life is in danger.”
- Biden has experienced fatigue, runny nose and a dry cough due to the infection, according to a Thursday letter from the White House doctor.
